Rock Band 2 vs. Guitar Hero 4: Set List

With Rock Band 2 set to drop this weekend, Activision has just released their full set list for Guitar Hero: World Tour in hopes of playing spoiler, but which game has the better set list?

Let’s run down the facts:

No Cover Bands - Both Comprised entirely of Master Recordings
Verdict: Tie.

Total Songs - Guitar Hero will launch with 86 songs versus Rock Band’s 75, but
Rock Band will also allow you to transfer songs from Rock Band 1 and plans to have 500 songs available by year’s end.
Verdict: Rock Band plans

Guitar Gods: Guitar Hero touts Zakk Wylde, Ted Nugent, and Jimi Hendrix, while Rock Band 2 will feature AC/DC’s Malcom and Angus Young, The Who’s Pete Townshend, and the Grateful Dead.
Verdict: Pumped for insane Nugent and Hendrix riffs—Edge Guitar Hero.

Big Debuts- GHIV will feature Metallica’s “Trapped Under Ice”, while Rock Band 2 will feature Guns N’ Roses’ new tune “Shackler’s Revenge” off the long awaited Chinese Democracy.
Verdict: No one has heard anything from G’n’R in years, and we’re excited to hear Chinese Democracy, good or bad. Edge Rock Band 2.

80’s Jams- Rock Band 2 features the Rocky training jam Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger” with Guitar Hero 4 featuring Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”.
Verdict: Push

Final Verdict: We are impressed by a lot of Guitar Hero’s tracks, and the on-disc tracks are pretty comparable. However, the ability to transfer songs from Rock Band 1 to the sequel definitely give the advantage to Rock Band 2.
