The Oscars are arguably the biggest day of the year in Hollywood. Inside the Kodak Theater, the finest films and best performances of the year will be honored. But the real action will be going on outside, before the big event, as Ashlan Gorse, the sexy E! News correspondent takes to the red carpet to get the inside scoop on what Hollywood’s sexiest stars are wearing. To get ready for the Oscars, we caught up with Ashlan at West Hollywood hotspot the The Mondrian for a sexy photo shoot and to find out who the sexiest star on the red carpet really is!

Why are award show red carpets so entertaining?
It’s just so much fun being on the carpet. You never know who’s going to walk up next. Everybody is walking around in the best dresses and the best tuxedos. It really is Hollywood at it’s best
Who has the sexiest red carpet style?
I love Eva Mendes and her style, because she is a woman with real curves. She has boobs, she has a tiny waist, she has hips, but she always looks so sexy. She just has that classic, oozing sex appeal down.
Speaking of sexy, your shoot was pretty hot. What do you think is sexier, swimsuits or lingerie?
I’d have to say lingerie. I’m definitely one of those old school girls that loves the vintage look. I just think there is something very pin-up and bombshell-looking about it. It’s just classic and sexy.
You are originally from North Carolina, How did you end up in Hollywood?
I grew up in North Carolina, I’m definitely a southern belle through and through. I moved out to LA about two and a half year ago, and I love it. This is the place for me, but I will move out of LA the day that I turn into somebody from here, and not a southern girl.
How are southern girls different?
I think being from the South, you just have something different. You don’t take yourself too seriously. You always say please and thank you, and you just smile a lot.
What has been your most memorable moment at E! so far?
I have to say the very first time I interviewed Meryl Streep. It was one of my first celebrity interviews. We had this really nice conversation. She gave me a hug at the end. When I walked out of the room, I thought to myself, ‘Holy Crap, I just interviewed Meryl Streep!’. I was nervous the whole rest of the day. It just didn’t hit me until the end.
Who is your favorite E! personality?
Honestly, everybody I work with is so much fun. Seacrest has like 8,000 jobs, and he’s still a really cool guy. Giuliana is awesome, Jason Kennedy is like my best friend. We sit next to each other and have all these inside jokes
You obviously forgot The Soup’s Joel McHale . . .
I love Joel! He’s only in once a week, so I don’t get to see him that much. He and I are the tallest people at E!, so we always joke around about that. He’s just wickedly funny.
Are you excited for the Oscars?
The Oscars are THE award show. It is the coolest, it’s the biggest, it’s the best award show. Everybody always has to go all out for the Oscars. The red carpet for the Oscars is completely different than any other red carpet. I mean we’re live all day. I think I’m on the red carpet for four hours this year. I can’t even go to sleep the night before, because I am just so excited. It’s what I live for.
Who are you excited to see on the red carpet?
Of course I want to see Brad Pitt at the Oscars. I actually interviewed him in New Orleans a little while ago, and he’s just hot. I want to talk to him about when he’s getting rid of Angelina Jolie and going to go out with me. Just kidding Angelina.
